If there is a brand that bets on Android tablets in Spain, that is Samsung. And its latest proposal in this segment has just arrived on the Spanish market.
We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, the cheapest bet within the range of options from the brand in Spain. Will it be one of those affordable surprises? We will see it in our analysis.
The unexpected screen on Samsung
As we have mentioned, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has an 8.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1340 x 800 pixels. A solution that, on paper, seems somewhat scarce.

We will not find anything exotic like high refresh rates or AMOLED technology, one of Samsung’s standards. The screen before our eyes is somewhat unexpected, coming from who it comes from.
The representation of colors is correct, and the viewing angles allow us to use the tablet with a certain degree of inclination without problems. However, there is a lack of sharpness due to its low resolution.
It becomes noticeable, especially while we run some games, since when browsing or viewing multimedia content, we end up “getting used to it.” We understand that it is the Lite version, but having a FullHD resolution would have been perfect on this tablet.
We come to one of the strengths of the device; its stereo speakers are noticeable and for good; listening to music or watching videos is a delight thanks to the immersion they provide. A pity that it is not accompanied by a screen that completes the great experience.
Performance without too many demands
If the screen has left us with a bittersweet taste, we come to one of the aspects where the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite raises more questions. Will your Helio P22T processor from Mediatek be up to the task?

Before solving the performance question, we must indicate that we only have one memory configuration. Specifically, the latter seems somewhat scarce, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
Now, how does it perform if we can face the elephant in the center of the room? The reality is that it is a mixture of sensations. Sometimes the experience is fluid, although, in a high percentage, we find slowdowns and a clumsy response from the device.
Something that does not improve if we enter the most playful aspect, we have tried demanding games like Asphalt 9 or Shadowgun War Games, where the performance has been very modest, touching the minimum required for a tablet.
When moving around the interface, running applications, and even playing straightforward games, the feeling is that of always being at the limit of its potential—leaving us with doubts about its long-term performance.
Significant autonomy for a tablet
But not everything is negative in the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, and the section we arrived at is proof of this. The autonomy of our protagonist is excellent, being able to make prolonged use without worries.

Its 5,100 mAh battery is noticeable, and a 15W fast charge accompanies them. It is not as spectacular as other types of fast charging, but it allows us to have a 100% charge in a reasonable time.
The tablet at rest barely consumes anything, and by using it daily, we can enjoy it for hours without worries. Something to which, unfortunately, the low resolution of the screen and the processor that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite carries inside contributes.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a great incomplete idea
As we mentioned at the beginning, Samsung is one of the few manufacturers that offers a wide range of Android tablets today—the Galaxy Tab S’s reference and the Galaxy Tab A’s content for all audiences.

His proposal for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite surprised us. We know that Samsung knows how to do it better. There are things like the screen or performance that fall short of expectations.
To this, we add that its direct competition is the Amazon Fire, a more balanced product and at more affordable prices than our protagonist, which makes us think that Samsung had an idea. Still, its execution has been far from expected.
We can purchase the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite in Spain, available in two colors, silver -the unit of analysis- and gray. There is a single configuration of 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage for €169 on the official Samsung website in Spain.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite : A software weighed down by the hardware.
The software has been something Samsung has improved on exponentially in recent years. And its One UI interface shows that you can have your own identity and offer a satisfactory user experience.
In the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, we find One UI Core in its version 3.1 with Android 11. We have the security patch as of April 1, 2021.
If we talk about applications, except Netflix, that we cannot uninstall, we find the usual in a brand’s device. Samsung’s own, complemented by Google and Microsoft’s own.
Focusing on personalization, we have a high degree of adaptation to the user’s taste. To which is added the range of options that Samsung incorporates in One UI to its devices. A sign of identity that distances us from the “spartan” experience we can find in pure Android.
The experience using One UI is satisfactory until we encounter slowdowns or lag when running applications or moving around the interface. We assume that due to the limited performance of the processor.
