Ethereum (ETH) hit an all-time high of $ 2,087 on Friday, according to new data from blockchain analytics firm Nomics.
The price of Ethereum (ETH) hit a new all-time high of $ 2,087, according to blockchain data provider Nomics.
It is part of a weeklong surge that has seen the price of Ethereum surpass the $ 2,000 mark again for the first time since February.
The cryptocurrency, as well as the network, has had a great year: it has played a major role in the craze for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), most of which operate on the Ethereum blockchain. It is also the network that powers most decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, such as the increasingly popular decentralized exchange Uniswap, which now handles billions of dollars in volume on a daily basis.
There are also rumors about future updates to the Ethereum network, the most important of which is Ethereum 2.0.
Currently, the price of Ethereum is hovering around $ 2,050, having fallen back since reaching its new all-time high. However, this represents a gain of almost 6% in the last 24 hours and an increase of 183% since the beginning of the year.
